Sensors for the Mining Industries

RuggedBroadley-James sensors have been used and tested for more than a decade in the mining industry under conditions involving strong caustics, high temperatures, and harsh industrial environments. The ST977, ST864, and ST951 are rugged, sealed sensor assemblies designed specifically for in-line applications.

ST956

The ST956 is a rugged, sealed sensor assembly designed for in-line or submersion applications. The patented solid state reference cell features the unique IonTrap™ design for extended service life in the most severe applications. The body, with an integral 3/4" MNPT insertion thread, is molded from chemically resistant Ryton® (PPS) and the reference junction is porous Teflon®. Built-in temperature compensators are available. Features include a built-in sensor guard that protects the sensor tip from impact. The sensor is also available in an ORP (Redox) version.

Twist-Lock Assembly

The ST951 is a rugged, sealed sensor assembly designed for in-line or submersion applications. The patented solid state reference cell features the unique IonTrap™ design for extended service life in the most severe applications. The body is molded from chemically resistant Ryton® (PPS) and the reference junction is either porous Teflon® or wood. Built-in temperature compensators are available. An optional sensor guard locks onto the front of the sensor and protects the sensor tip from impact. The sensor is also available in an ORP (Redox) version.

High Pressure Hot-Tap Assembly

The ST977 is a rugged, sealed replacement sensor designed for the SA877 and SA878 insertion/retraction assemblies. The patented solid state reference cell features the unique IonTrap™ design for extended service life in the most severe applications. The body, with an integral bulb guard and anti-blowout restraint, is molded from chemically resistant Ryton® (PPS) and the reference junction is porous Teflon®. Built-in temperature compensators are available. The sensor is also available in an ORP (Redox) version.

Ag/AgCl Redox Sensor

Cyanide activity can now be monitored with a silver/silver chloride Redox sensor, which features a large surface area silver billet and a solid-state reference. Reliable monitoring of free cyanide in gold pulp allows the mill operators to closely follow cyanide concentration trends for improved process control.

Better control of reagents invariably produces chemical savings and improved recovery rates. The sensor produces a reduction potential of -200 to -500 mV over a 10 ppm to 300 ppm concentration range.

Its solid-state, quadruple reference (Patent 5147524 by Broadley-James Corp.) provides stability and durability in measuring cyanide concentration in mining slurries.

A 3/4" MNPT process connection on the cable side of the sensor allows easy submersible installation of this compact, rugged sensor.
